The alluvial gold panning just north of Placerita Canyon, California ... What's that thing of money?
it is moderately reflective heavier than iron and non-magnetic.
Iron pyrites, or may be lead, nickel, silver. Since you said it was heavier than iron, mica, probably not, but that is usually found with metals. It may well be some compounds,,,, rhyolite. (Google it) or some other compound igneous .... same quartz that is not necessarily the same metal or silver.
